Joining Psion.net for free Internet access & E-mail

This page shows the settings for a Psion Series 5 or Series 5mx when used with Psion.net as your internet provider.

You MUST set up your account via a PC on line to LineOne's Psion Net page on the internet. Go to http://www.psion.net and sign up. This is a FREE internet service.

Go to the "System Screen".

Go to "Control Panel".

Go to "Internet".

Set up a NEW connection .......

Current Internet service - Psion.net

Show connection dialog - TICKED

If idle, stay online for - 05:00 mm:ss

On exit stay online for - 00:00 mm:ss

PRESS EDIT.

SERVICE

Name - Psion.net

Connection type - Dial up

Use smart dialling - TICKED

Standard dial-up number - 08457 002299

ACCOUNT

Username - your user name (Without the @psion.net)

Password - Your password ??????

Confirm password - Your password again ??????

ADDRESSES

Get IP address from server - TICKED

Get DNS address from server - TICKED

LOGIN

Enter nothing on this page

ADVANCED

Enable PPP extensions - NOT Ticked

Allow plain text authentication - TICKED

No more entries on this page.

TICK DONE on toolbar.

TICK OK on Internet service settings page

Push ESC. button ONCE .. You should now be back on the "System screen.

NOW to set up your e-mail settings .......

Touch the e-mail symbol

Press Menu button and go to Tools / account settings

ACCOUNT NAME - your account name eg: yourname@psion

YOUR NAME - Your REAL name

Email address - Your full email address eg: yourname@psion.net

Set as default account - NOT Ticked

Now go to Outgoing ...

Email (SMTP) server - smtp.psion.net (or try ... smtp.lineone.net if you are having problems)

Auto send on Opening - TICKED

Now go to Incoming

POP3 server - pop3.psion.net

Mailbox login - your user name

Mailbox password - Your Password ??????

Confirm password - Re-Type your password ??????

Tap OK on toolbar

You are now ready to go online.
